“For the last two years I’ve been solidly working on this new project, ‘Wooden Postcards’.
This is an amalgamation of various skills and expressive of a world attitude and philosophy.
Old world because the objects are handmade using wood and paint. New world because they have a humour and reference to the now.”
We are currently on an artist in residence at Laughing Waters just outside of Melbourne on the Yarra River. We are there to produce works for a couple of exhibitions later this year - and it is also a mighty fine place to sit and do some of our design work.
In November 2006 we launched a fine arts publication entitled ‘The Present History’. Here is a quick spiel: “The Present History was produced in Canberra, Australia by The Contextual Villains and contains the combined work of over 25 visual, sound and text based artists. This 700 copy limited edition release is hand numbered and signed by The Contextual Villains.”
Produced in 2002, Fluid Ink has been screened at This Is Not Art Festival, Lume, Nextwave Festival, National Museum of Australia, Straight Out Of Brisbane, Livebait Reel Life, 7th Seoul Fringe Festival South Korea, Gwangju Biennale South Korea.
